Position: Prep Cook
Position summary: The Prep Cook has the primary responsibility to assist in all aspects of kitchen operation, including but not limited to food production, preparation, packaging, menu planning, recipe development, ordering, kitchen organization, quality control, inventory, and cleaning.

Requirements
· Punctuality with a Monday - Wednesday Schedule of 6am-2pm and a Sunday shift of 8am-2pm
· Detail oriented and deadline driven
· Works well as a team player and independently
· Perform a variety of tasks from simple to complex; handles “dirty work” well
· Comfortable working in a commercial kitchen environment
General Prerequisites
● Current Texas Food Handlers Certification
● 1-2 years’ experience in foodservice or related field; culinary school a plus but not required
Duties and Responsibilities
● Ensure that the highest standards of kitchen production and operations are met
● Task-focused to meet production deadlines
● Open kitchen on time; follow kitchen opening and closing procedures
● Able to operate all kitchen equipment alone and without supervision
● Contribute to recipe and menu development
● Wash dishes, sweep/mop floors, perform other cleaning tasks
● Occasionally assist in inventory ordering and maintaining organized coolers/dry storage
● Work clean and efficiently; follows current food safety and sanitation practices with a thorough understanding of mise en place
● Help foster a positive work environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale
Physical Demands
● Ability to operate within the physical demands of commercial kitchen environment
● Standing for long periods of time
● Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, reach overhead, climb
● Some heavy lifting of up to 40 lbs
